good car shampoo?
Hi guys,
I don't have a power hose (yet) any recommendations on whats a good car shampoo for the old bucket and sponge, as mines running out I had carplan triplewax shampoo and im just not convinced it's that good it doesn't seem to lather up that well.
Thanks!

Don't be using a standard sponge for starters. Get a decent wash mitt so you're not pushing dirt around the paint.

You don't say where you are but if near Carryduff rake a trip to procar and Davy will sort you out.

I've been using the demon shine/snow foam jobby that fits on the regular garden hose. For a quick scrub and go it does the job and the foam spray is handy even if your water pressure isn't oustanding. Plus it's on 3 for 2 at the moment so you can get the demon foam, demon shine and demon tyres or demon interior multipurpose stuph for a bit knocked off.
Just picked up a bucket of the green carplan 5l stuph to see what it's like - i'm hoping it's a variation on the demon foam

Meguiars gold class is a good shout. Though I've recently bought Dodo juice sour power shampoo and it's definitely the best I've used! Cleanyourcar.co.uk are pretty good!

Re: good car shampoo?
Anything from poorboys, meguiars, dodo juice etc will be good stuff. at work im using autoglyms shampoo and wax and definitely gives some protection as the water beads a little the next time you wash.
dont under estimate the 2 bucket method with grit guard and lambs wool mitt though, well worth the few pound. and correct wash technique is key, more times you see at car washes these boys going from under the sill then up around the car with out rinsing the sponge. treat it like a lady!!

Re: good car shampoo?
washing up liquid is AWFUL it will strip all the protection from your car - really shouldn't be put near a car at all.
