How much bhp can a v4 Sti dccd take ?

Hi I was wondering how much power a standard V4 Sti dccd gearbox can take usually befor it decides enough is enough and gives up ? Also is there any difference in strength between it and a V5 Sti dccd gear box ? Any info on this would be a great help :-)

The answer lies in your driving style Stephen and the current condition of the box. Torque is the killer, some last a long time with hefty power some dont.

There is an element of luck involved in it also.

Ive seen a TY754 box stripped running under 350lbsft. But they are supposed to be stronger as Simon says.

I don't have a six speed lying about LOL but I do have a v4 and v5 so trying to decide which one would be better to use :-)

As said above Stephen it's all down to condition and driving style tbh I much 1 with 280bhp(none dccd) P1 box in my type R as
these are ment to be strong also not the case I found out lol
