best fuel to use?

Just got my first scooby last week. Just wondered what u guys think is the best fuel to use. Some people have said any super unleaded others say nothing but bp ultimate

Same thing, with slightly different addictives per supplier. All 97ron. Bit like oil, its personal taste. Running from a supply that changes regularly and not lying in tanks for ages is good too.

Plus some use octane booster too

Depends which model you have (UK or import) and whether it has been mapped for aggressive timing or not. UK standard motors can run 95ron but you will see a slight rise in mpg if you use the better stuff.

It can use 95 but with it being a 2.5 id be using super only

Ive heard the bp theory a couple of times but nobody can say why its not suited to an impreza.

strangely ive never actually been told why it doesnt suit. it was Bob Rawle told me to stay off it (plus he said it looked more like 95RON in my case) He mentions it again here BRDevelopments on his site. Must ask him again when down at Daveys for the group buy.

i ran my old classic on BP & only BP and it never skipped a beat

Ive always used topaz super from my local garage and never had a problem, would be interesting to get a knocklink fitted and do a proper test.

I reckon if a garage over here started selling 98 or 99ron and marketed it at high performance or import cars they would make a fortune. Im surprised nobody has even tried it.

i think they would also, but the issue is there is no actual storage area's for it down in the docks afaik

I heard a while ago that there is only 2 types of super in Ireland, BP and everyone else. Probably total ***** though, can anyone confirm? Was told that it all comes off the same container ship on import, no idea if this is true though.

Sainsburys SUL is just BP SUL without their 'ultimate' additives. comes out of the same mahossif storage tank down in docks - additives are added on dispensing from storage tanks

The rest Texaco/Maxol/Topaz - no idear where it comes from!

I did a bit of research on this 2 years ago. Any sul north of monaghan is from belfast. The rest cones through dublin. Additives are added after. Its all rubbish compared to the 99 available in the mainland uk
