    aha got it
    [IMG][/IMG]
tank straps look pretty nice, protected them and the tank with self adhesive foam tape to stop either wearing through
    [IMG][/IMG
all subframes and suspension arms were sandblasted and painted with stonechip black.
    [IMG][/IMG]
changed all the bushes to red polybushes while i was there to help stiffen up a 20 year old scooby, changed the arms to black because i didn't like the blue

fitted the front subframe and gearbox carrier and put her back on the ground

    [IMG][/IMG]

rear diff and shafts are all in at this point, still have handbrake cables to clip up.

    [IMG][/IMG]

after this she came from the garage for her first time in about a year...

    [IMG][/IMG]

was just the motivation i needed seeing the old girl on her feet/wheels
but she had to go back in for me to keep working!!
had to get a crack in the gearbox casing welded before that went in and while that was away my dog chewed the reverse light switch wires.. :/ but after sorting that and running the wires and brake lines in the engine bay her heart could go back in..

    [IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

looks scruffy i know but it worked and with a change of oil and new plugs she'll keep me going (hopefully) untill i sort a proper spec engine for it

    [IMG][/IMG]

connecting everything up, had to replace loads of small bits of vacuum hose.

    [IMG][/IMG]

fitting the front intercooler i picked up from a fellow scooby enthusiast for the sum of 100 euro, required some alteration from the gc8 impreza to the leggy..

    [IMG][/IMG]

it fouled the oil filler and the cam pulleys at the start, not the best.. its quite massive and unfortunately doesn't fit behind the bumper at all...

    [IMG][/IMG]

i altered the route the outlet from the turbo took as i have the abs block behind the drivers headlight so i took it under the wing top

    [IMG][/IMG]

and up under the original airbox location

    [IMG][/IMG]

have to put some sort of trim around the hole

    more intercooler pics..
have to get myself an assortment of mikalor clamps to hold it all better but good ole worm drive clips will do for now,

also have to cut off the lower towing eye on this side, it doesn't quite touch but i don't want to risk it

not quite sat level in this pic, it's damn huge now i look at it on here..
the pipes in the engine bay were a bit of a challenge, i already knew i couldn't use the standard airbox but how little room i had left was a shock..

    [IMG][/IMG]

oh i have this funky hks fcd.. i know its a fuel cut defender but what do i set it to standard (ish) it was on 10 when i got the car, i forgot to take some pics between these two...
it has a full custom inlet, i made a stainless joiner with vacuum take offs and the pipe for the iacv.

you can see the alloy header tank my dad kindly donated,
radiator is being replaced once my bank balance is happier!
I'm quite pleased with my little inlet system, cone filter is just a generic one to be replaced later too

    parts fitted:
98 impreza shocks and springs all round, rear subframe and front and rear suspension arms from the same car.
    goodrich braided brake lines.
    classic front mount intercooler.
    custom turbo inlet.
    new ngk platinum pfr6b's.
    alloy header tank.
impreza brakes with legacy rears to keep vented discs.
    hks turbo timer.
    custom short shift gear lever.
    new clutch.

had to buy a set of wheels as one of the mille miglia t12s was buckled badly so if anyone is looking for up to 3 of them i will sell them cheap,
found a set of ultraleggeras in gun metal for cheap so picked them up

i think they suit the old skool meets track look..
made a bit of a sumpguard up the other day, needs reinforcing but its going to be handy because the roads round here are s***

heat tape on the downpipe to help keep the engine bay a little cooler, have to paint the front xmember yet

chopped the bumper but hated it immediately, going to mould the front back in but a bit further forwards luckily I know for a spare incase it looks like a mess.

have some bodywork to sort out, i'm going for a useable rally slag so its not about shiny paintwork for me. and i was thinking red mudflaps?? opinions please

So a busy day today preparing her for paint, only got a few bubbles or rust to sort and then on to primer, taking shape
Ordered pipe and bends to make myself an exhaust, straight through apart from a small box at the back, should have that flat 4 rally note then,

Ha neither can I, i'm doing her as a tribute/replica of McRae's Rothmans legacy, it's not an rs unfortunately so I can't make it a faithful replica but blue and white all the way.
Might have to make up a roo bar like the safari rally cars to protect my intercooler?? be a handy place to fit my rally giants too
