Re: My White UK Turbo - The Story Continues.
Looks really well m8 it's just what it needed to complete that wee car.. Was the rear quarters rubbed back filled and painted or cut out and new metal welded back in? My current classic is needing similar treatment very soon

Re: My White UK Turbo - The Story Continues.
Was very lucky arches were fine, with no rust, so taken back and filled. Metal hangers on arches for bumper end corners had rusted badly so they were cut out and fresh plates welded in. Bonnet scoop was also repainted to match bonnet.

Re: My White UK Turbo - The Story Continues.
The work has started to fit the speedy bits prior to JGM visit and as usual the headaches have started also, I decided to get jonny to do the headers so with the continued help of my one and only spanner man Gordon, the heads were easily removed and shipped over to OCS headquarters today. Swopping the TD04 out for the VF28 should have been straightforward but fought us every step of the way from brackets to bolts it took the guts of a full evening burning the midnight oil but at least it is all fitted and plumbed. More to follow tomorrow.
Cheers, Brian

Re: My White UK Turbo - The Story Continues.
Next project fitting the V8 STI TMIC......... More mods needed. All the alloy and silicon pipework was included with the purchase but we found a few problems, some of which we guessed and others not. If anyone is going the route of the STI newage intercooler upgrade make sure you get the mounting brackets as these are like hens teeth. Also required is a repacement newage STI clutch mastercylinder and resevoir. The reason being the STI intercooler is wider than standard and the original classic clutch mastercylinder will not accomodate the STI TMIC. I will upload pics when fitted to show the fitment. Getting there slow and steady.
Cheers, Brian

Re: My White UK Turbo - The Story Continues.
Intercooler now fitted, pretty straight forward just a bit fiddley with pipework and bolts.
FYI a set of STI intercooler brackets solves all fitment problems (I hope pending road test) these were bolted on easily on the turbo side and the outer hole was used at the coil side with the outer hole on bracket.
You can see from the picture below the VF28 nestled in nice and tidy, eventually....... and the absolute don't forget to buy bit, the STI newage clutch mastercylinder which is a straight swop.
Much to my daughter Lauren's delight I could not use the standard STI dump valve due to clearance issues with the coil pack and so a Forge Chav Valve was used instead, ah well it will make me drive slow round the town in case it whooshes and I look like a right tit. As you can see there is only about 5mm clearance now with VTA valve
Just waiting on the ported headers from OCS headquartes on saturday and we are good to go!Cheers, Brian
