Hitting a seagull at 170mph+

Swan Yamaha rider Ian Hutchinson experienced a terrifying moment during yesterday's practice session at the Isle of Man TT after surviving a high-speed collision... with a seagull.


The wayward bird found itself in the wrong place at the wrong time as Hutchinson's Swan Yamaha flew round the Mountain Circuit, home of the world-famous road race.


The collision shattered the plastic bubble on the front of Hutchinson's fairing but, incredibly, the bird survived and Hutchinson managed to keep the bike upright.


The bird was taken to the RSPCA for treatment for a damaged wing, while Hutchinson's machine needed some bodywork repairs, but the incident could have been a lot worse.

I seen a pigeon getting hit by a transit van doing 30mph the other day , it disapeared into a cloud of feathers ! That is one lucky bird.
