Do CLKs have Active Body Control suspension like the CLs? I was put off buying one because of the problems with it.

When did they stop having bodywork issues (i.e rust)
    Mate in work has a CL55 AMG - I think its 2001 or 2002.
Front wings have to get attention for rust every single year.

From what I can tell the CLK500 is a sound car in general.

what model year depends if its the 208 or 209 chassis, its a decent car some of the models had issues with rust but was manly c and e class (208 clk based on c class chassis) and had all been sorted under warranty. tbh if ur gonna think bout a 500 just spend the extra few pennies and get a 55

The car in question is 2004.

The 55amg - someone else said that too.
I wonder what the difference is like in real life though?
Bearing in mind, driving nowadays is generally not a lot of fun.
There are police everywhere trying to cat you speeding.
The vast majority of my journey commuting is spent in that stupid average speed controlled zone between Bangor/Belfast.

Shaun friend of mine bought a CLK every year for 9 years working his way up to the AMG. He bought tax free which allowed the upgrade every year as he made money on each car @ 12 months old with less than 6k on the clock. He swore by them and when he hit 40 he purchased his last before he returned to the uk, still driving it now 5 years on. I had a drive impressive car but having driven a 330S i prefer the scoob for the rawness. However if you want a Luxury cruiser then the AMG would win.

Shaun I have been ogling pictures of the new CLA 45 AMG which is just about to launch here in the next few weeks. 2.0 turbo with 345 bhp and 41 mpg!!! Front wheel drive but with 4wd when it senses slip. Sounds like a great replacement for a Scoob in a couple of years.

Only thing that would put me off a big amg merc from back then would be maintenance costs, and then potential bankruptcy if something big fails. Would be nice as a weekend car but not a daily driver at near 10yr old

This was roaring round goodwood yesterday. A mega impressive car going handling and stopping. Brabus brakes etc . I want one. He was out playing with gtr,s , ferrari,s, Porsche and so on and could obviously drive it as he was quicker than nearly all there.
    Will there be a no.5 ?
