    Default What lowering springs?

Ok, looks like my tuner nuts won't be arriving today so i'll not be able to fit my wheels

Was hoping to order springs this weekend after i gauge how much i'll be able to lower the car by, but looks like i'll have to wait until next week now so thought i'd create a topic to ask opinions on what will be the best springs for my hawkeye Sport.

I'll be running 17" wheels with either 215 or 225 wide tyres, and i'm looking at either Eibach or Tein springs which i can get for a little under £200

also, i'm assuming that a set of aftermarket springs meant for a WRX will be ok for my car?

Eibach are dirt in my opinion. stick with the Tein`s if that`s your budget

Really? Eibach are highly praised by other manufacturer/model-oriented forums. Have always heard good reports about them(albeit i don't think any of those good reports were from a Japanese-made car forum).

What other options do i have in regards to springs? The budget can always be stretched if need be.

My advise would be to get coilovers. As I said in another post I have Tein in my hatch and for another £400 I could have got coilovers. Not dissin Tein the springs are great but I would say you would get better ride and handling out of coilovers.

Yeah that was the original plan, but i don't want it on the floor and springs are a more affordable option. That extra £400 could get me another few carbon bit, even cover the cost of an actual carbon bonnet. Coilovers could then be further down the line, but just getting it lowered by any means is priority!

H&R`s are a very good spring that gives the comfort of oe without the rollover.
There is a group buy on scoobynet for coilovers which are BC`s rebranded but come with rubber rear mounts instead of pillow ball mounts to stop the knocking. fronts are still pillowball but have no problem with knocking.

Yeah my mate has BC coilovers on his S2000, he has them wound right down so that there is zero comfort when driving lol.

Whats the group buy price, do you know off the top of your head?

£590 is money i don't have knocking about at the minute unfortunately, hence me wanting springs if only for the time being until the money pot is looking a bit healthier. few other wee bits & bobs i'd rather put the funds towards before going for coilovers

As for sitting 10mm lower than standard STi items, that would probably suit me, given that they'll be going into a Sport

Would i be correct in saying that springs from a new age STi will not fit my car? And what about if i was to fit STi shocks AND springs, would they fit?
