    Question wheel help?

bought a set of wheels for my car on wednesday there.
had 17" wheels on which didn't scobe the arches at all.
swapped tyres over to the new set and now she's scobing like mad!!!
they are the proper offset (5x100) so i thaught they would be dead on but they must sit out further than the last wheels.
am wondering if there is anyway of sorting this out or will i just need to get new wheels?

    all help appreciated

    cheers.....Paul

The 5x100 you have qouted is the PCD not the offset.

The offset is the ET marking on the rim, sounds like the ET of the new rim is lower than the previous rims. The lower the ET the more they stick out.

You can have the wheels machined down but i wouldnt advise that. What wheels are they and where did they come from?

They are more than likely VW offset then.

If they are scrubbing sell them on and get some Subaru Fitment wheels

tyre safety centre in cookstown can mill up to 5mm off a wheel as stu says, therefore giving an offset of 40mm which should be fine

As a guide the standard offset iirc was 48, BarryWhite R on here is running ET42 and did have some rubbing issues but i think he had the geo sorted to suit.

Assuming your tyres are 215 width?

Im running et30 on a newage but it seems there is more arch room on the newage.

im also in the process of fitting lower offset wheels. well fitting a 15mm spacer on my existing OE speedline et53 rims - though im going to be rolling the inner lip of the arches back to get the nessecary clearance.

Stu did you not get your arches rolled by jimturbo to fit the et30's?
