    Default very sloppy handbrake help

I have a rather steep driveway so it was always a matter of time before it got this bad. I have had a look before but never really did much about it. Is it simple enoigh to do from the lever end or do I need ot get under the car on the back axle?

At the handbrake end. Think it was just a 10 or 13mm spanner needed.

Yeh, a lock nut and adjusting nut. Its actually in your subaru handbook on how to do it, if you've got it in your glovebox.

or adjustment on rear is done via access holes on backplates

If you are adjusting through the backplates remember to let the handbrake cables right off first in adjustment

as scubbay says, adjust at the back plates, rubber grommet , take off, see toothed wheel, use screw driver to adjust, memory serves me rite, up to tighten

Had a look there and it is indeed a 10mm pair of nuts. Cheers Boys.

Done, got about 4-5 clicks from each side at the back of each hub. Nut beside lever only got about 1 turn before it started twisting and trying to turn back. Feels better now and around 7 clicks though new shoes and discs next might help.
