    Default gc8 weak wheel bearings?

so i heard the gc8 has weak wheel bearings, is this true i seen some people going for a complete swap from 05+imprezas?
if it is true is there any other way to get stronger bearings other than doing a swap from a newage impreza.

I've never had a problem but maybe with bigger than standard wheels you may put more stress on them. I'm sure you could get better quality bearings rather than go the new age route. Really not sure but interested myself now as I'm going to be fitting 18s, time to google that question me thinks lol.

I know that there is a big difference in STI suspension parts compared to wrx parts so I would expect newage STI parts to be even better. The newage STI also has a wider track so a complete swap would be ideal. Im going to fit all my STI stuff and see how it goes before spending money I may not need too.

Only the 05 on has wider track

All bearings will suffer wear and tear, my classic was tracked alot and never had bother with the bearings. Conversion to 05 > onwards is not as cheap as you think and tbh no requirement to do so.

Bearings are the same on your car as the newage when you have the 180 rear diff. Front bearings on the very early 92-93 cars were more prone to need replacing. Rears on your model and newage can rumble a little in higher mileage cars but nothing to stress over.
