    Default Strong coolant smell

When the car warms up im getting a strong smell of coolant. Have checked everything and it all looks fine. Also no water or drips on the garage floor. I have had to top up the water a bit but not much. Any ideas?

What im worried about is it being the head gasket. My radiator top pipe broke on me and it lost all its coolant, now as far as I know it didnt over heat. The temp gauge never went above three quarters. I fitted a new rad and hoses and ever since its smelt of coolant. No other symptoms of head gasket.

    Its a ppp thing

if it happens at lights n junctions then must happen at your front door coming home. If no overheat then i wouldnt worry, a 2.5 is a worry

If you can smell it then it's outside the system somewhere. You have a problem! Could well be a small one. Get it tested before it gets worse.

Got davy to check it today and head gasket is fine. I had too much coolant in it and it might have been the cap releasing the pressure but not sure. Right amount of coolant in it now, il give it a couple of days and see wat the craic is.
